MLAIC 21st World Muzzle Loading Championships 2004

The Canadian International Muzzle Loading Team attended the World Muzzle Loading Championships, held in Batesville , Indiana the last week of August.
Canada was one of the 18 countries represented at the championship. Of the 285 competitors present at the competition, the Canadian contingent was a 19 member team with coach, Louise Martin. We were quite pleased with our overall results with 23 placings in the top 20, 10 of which were in the top 10 and 7 of which were in the top 5.

Special congratulations go to Bill Bell and Ed Macdonald who both took gold medals with Bill matching the world record with a score of 99 in the 100m prone rifle and Ed setting a new world record of 45/50 in the flint shotgun event.

We are also very proud of our junior shooters:
-of Sean Wickett who took 2 bronze medals in the 50m offhand and 100m prone rifle events
-of Jessica Robitaille who at her first world championships placed 4 th in the 50m offhand rifle
-of Kevin Keatley who placed in the top half of the OPEN flint shotgun event

Congratulations also go to:
-Gary Bretfeld placing 4 th in the 100m minie event
-Kevin Jones who took a 5 th place in the flint pistol
-Walter Krawec placing 6 th in the 100m prone rifle and 8 th in the 50m offhand rifle
-Marty King who placed 9 th in the flint shotgun event Honourable mention must also go to:

Ken Hollingsworth, Carmen Redmond, Ed Martin and Brian Keatley all had placings in the top 20. The next World Muzzleloading Championships will be held in Bordeaux , France in August, 2006.
